The Bathrooms of the HGTV Dream Home
The 2022 HGTV Dream Home in Warren, Vermont is nestled within the heart of New England ski country. The area is amid the aptly named Green Mountains, and the home design beautifully reflects the surroundings. Every effort was made to tie the colors of nature to the palette inside the home and incorporate rustic elements throughout.

The master bathroom provides a spa-like retreat, painted none other than a deep, forest-inspired sage green – a color we continually see highlighted by paint companies as “color of the year” for 2022. This color is from the Sherwin Williams/HGTV collaboration and is called Retreat. The vanity mirror in a natural wood tone work to break up the dark tones and adds another natural element to the space. The wood frame tone is similar the Cherokee Barnwood style in the MirrorMate frame collection and could be used to create a similar look, while retaining an existing plate glass mirror.

The large hexagon tiles on the shower wall also showcase this deep green color. Dark greys and blacks also play a role in this bath with matte black featured in the hardware throughout – from faucets to drawer pulls. The white spa tub is a standout in the room.

The guest bath also pulls from nature, featuring a slate gray-blue color scheme. The walls painted a rich blue grey called Slate Tile by Sherwin Williams/HGTV Home. This bath, like the master also showcases a monochromatic color scheme that helps bring a feeling of serenity to the room. A modern design element comes from the geometric tile, the half rounds a play on the nearby mountain range.

The vanity features pewter cabinetry and a carbon quartz counter. The hardware throughout blends in as well, in a modern matte black. The hardware selection showcases the trend toward the use of black in the bath in everything from faucets and drawer pulls to black mirror frames. While it is used in this home to provide a monochromatic look it is often a standout among a mainly white or lightly toned bathroom paint. To add easily add a black mirror frame to you the bath, shop black mirror frames here. Another easy update would be to swap out existing hardware for a matte black finish.
