Kate recommends choosing a few styles and seeing them in person so you can determine the look you like in your home.

• Do you want to complement or contrast? Sometimes, it is best to choose a frame that complements your décor and adds a subtle finishing touch so it does not compete with other elements in the space. Other times, you want your frame to stand out and be the focal point. In that case, you may want a frame that pops against the wall or countertop color.

• What kind of design detail do you want to add? When choosing a frame, you should consider what kind of design element you want to introduce. Do you want something sleek and modern with a clean, sharp lines or something with a rustic vibe, coastal colorway, or a traditional vibe?
