2022 Color of the Year - Green is in!
The two major players in paint agree – 2022 is the year of sage green. Benjamin Moore named their 2022 Color of the Year October Mist. It is a color they’re calling silvery-green and one that serves as an excellent backdrop for a range of harmonious colors.
Similarly, Sherwin Williams has declared Evergreen Fog their 2022 Color of the Year, saying it is a “soothing, subtle, and a perfect shade to freshen up any space” and a “calming hue.” Their call to action is “Get a Fresh Start” and it is one that inspires. Who wants to forget the last two years and start with a clean slate?
While Evergreen Fog is a deeper shade of green than Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year, featuring grays and even a bit of blue mixed in, we just can’t help but be struck by the similarity. After blues, blues, blues, the tide seems to be changing.
Both colors do evoke a more soothing, relaxed palette – a feeling we all crave in our homes after the tumultuous last two years. It really is no wonder that the colors of nature, ones that provide a spa-like feel are leading the décor palette for 2022. We do believe color can have an effect on mood and we can all use a calming palette right about now.
Having the spa-like feel does make both of these colors excellent contenders for bathroom paint colors. Here’s are 3 mood boards we pulled together featuring the colors of the year.
